Salma Hayek’s had prominent roles in films like 
Grown Ups, Frida, and Desperado. Although  you may have enjoyed her in those movies,

Salma Hayek was shining on the red carpet at the  2020 Golden Globe Awards and her recent film, 
Like a Boss, has made her a big name in the  news. Hayek is a famous actress and she's 
been featured in social media feeds because of  her show-stopping Golden Globe Awards outfit. 
Salma Hayek comes from a wealthy  family. She was born to Sami Hayek, 
a Lebanese Mexican and an Oil company executive  who once ran for mayor of Coatzacoalcos and 
Diana Jiménez Medina who is an opera singer and  talent scout, and is a Mexican of Spanish descent. 
Her younger brother, Sami Hayek  Jr., is a furniture designer.
Salma Hayek announced her engagement with French  billionaire and PPR CEO François-Henri Pinault on 
March 9, 2007. She also announced on the same day  that she was expecting her first child. They split 


 
in 2008, for some time. But, reconciled soon. So,  there was an on-off kind of relationship. Salma 
gave birth to daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault  on September 21, 2007. They married on Valentine’s 
Day, 2009 in Paris, and on April 25, 2009, they  were married a second time in Venice, Italy.
She began her career in Mexico starring  in the “telenovela Teresa” and starred in 
the film El Callejón de los Milagros for which  she was nominated for an Ariel Award. In 1991, 
Hayek moved to Hollywood and came to  prominence with roles in films such as 
Desperado, From Dusk till Dawn,  Wild Wild West, and Dogma.
Her breakthrough role was in the 2002 film  Frida for which she was nominated for Best 
Actress for the Academy Award, BAFTA Award,  Golden Globe Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award. 
This movie received widespread attention  and was a critical and commercial success.
She won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding  Directing in a Children/Youth/Family 
Special for The Maldonado Miracle in 2004, and  received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for 
Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series after  guest-starring in the ABC television comedy-drama 
Ugly Betty in 2007. She also guest-starred on  the NBC comedy series 30 Rock from 2009 to 2013. 
In 2017, she was nominated for an Independent  Spirit Award for her role in Beatriz at Dinner.
Hayek's subsequent films include Grown Ups  (2010), Puss in Boots (2011), Grown Ups 2 (2013), 
Tale of Tales (2015), Sausage Party (2016) The  Hitman's Bodyguard (2017) and Like a Boss (2020).
As of 2021, her net worth is estimated roughly 
at $200 million which mainly comes  from her acting and producing career.
The high-society couple acquired the  9-acre property way back in 2007, 
when they paid Kelsey and Camille Grammer  $13.5 million for the 1940s-era residence, 
which sits privately behind tall trees and  gates. In the 13 years since, they’ve remodeled 
the place at least once, spending hundreds  of thousands on a second-floor expansion and 
renovation. The vaguely Cape Cod-style house  currently contains 9 bedrooms and 10 baths, 
and has a spectacular over-the-treetops view  of the L.A. basin and Century City skyline.
Salma Hayek is very fond of her  Lexus Hybrid which is one of the 
best luxury cars available today.  This car was valued at $50.000.
Salma 
was born in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico.  Although she came to the United States, 
she didn’t forget her roots, as she  follows Mexican soccer in her free time. 
Soccer is a huge part of the culture  in Mexico, so she still follows it. 
It helps that her husband, Francois-Henri  Pinault, also seems to be a soccer fan.
She owns a production company, named Ventanarosa  which was establish in 1999. It’s a small 
production company that has worked with some  big studios, including Netflix and Lionsgate.
There’s a lot that Salma has done to  help the world, and she’s even been 
part of a campaign that helped to pay  for tetanus vaccines for those in need. 
The United Nations Children’s Fund helps  provide aid to children around the world. 
Salma has worked closely with the organization  and even received the UNICEF Humanitarian Award.
Salma is a serious animal lover. She has  adopted a number of pets including five horses, 
four alpacas, one cat, ten dogs, one hamster, 
five parrots, two fishes, an  owl, and a new puppy, named Bee.
